Porcelain Veneers—Dental Shells That Hide Imperfections
A flaw in your smile is causing you to hide your teeth behind your hand. You may have one or more teeth that are discolored, misshapen, chipped, or of irregular shape. Or, perhaps, two of your teeth have a gap between them. Come to our dentist for porcelain veneers so you do not have to be self-conscious about your smile.
Veneers are thin shells, which our dentist applies to the front of your teeth to cover imperfections. Getting a veneer is a three-step process that begins with a dental consultation. The second visit is all about preparation. Since the veneer lies on top of your tooth, our dentist prepares the tooth by shaving off a little bit of enamel and makes a model of your tooth for a lab to craft your veneer.
We attach your veneer during the third visit. First, our dentist checks the color and fit by placing it on your tooth. He trims the veneer and then cleans polishes, and etches your tooth. After applying a tooth-colored dental cement to the veneer, our dentist positions it and hardens the cement with a beam of light.
